Videos can be invaluable for your business's online marketing campaign. YouTube is one of the best ways to market your company, as the world's second largest search engine with upwards of three billion searches every month. However, you might be worried about the overall cost of producing high-quality video content that people are likely to find.
Many advertisers may make it seem like a flashy video can be up to six figures in cost, but in reality you can produce great video content without spending more than your budget allows.
Here are a few ways to produce high-quality videos at a consistently low cost.
## Look for Keywords Ideal for Simple Videos
The video content itself won't help you rank, but the text and contained keywords that supplement it. This is why you need to take the time to find the right keywords to target for simple videos, which will most likely be less competitive and subsequently less costly.
The more popular a keyword is, the harder it will be to rank for it, making your video less effective. What you should target are certain niche keywords that a large group of people is likely to search.
Consider going for unique targets such as review keywords when reviewing certain products, how-to keywords for tutorial or instructional videos, popular film and TV quotes, or song and album titles for videos featuring music. These are all keywords that Google considers to be video keywords, which rank videos higher than text in search results.
## Find Keyword Volume Using the AdWords Keyword Planner
Using the Google AdWords Keyword Planner tool, you can easily enter one or more keywords to see their volume. You'll also be able to see the competition level of the keyword, ranging from low to medium to high. The lower the competition and the higher the search volume, the better the keyword.
## Look for Inexpensive Opportunities
If you want to keep costs low when making a video, try to look for ways to produce a video on a limited budget. The cost will, of course, vary greatly depending on the type of video you want to produce. For instance, a video about "how to prepare event tables with linen" will take up much less time and resources than a video covering "how to paint a home exterior." Try to keep things as simple as possible, only using more expensive equipment for video projects that call for it.
## Don't Spring for Expensive Editing Software
Using editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro may seem ideal for high-end video production and editing, but you don't need these for marketing videos. Apps like Filmora Video Editor and iMovie are good enough for the production of top-quality videos if the editing doesn't call for dramatic transitions and other over-the-top effects.
## Optimize Videos
Give your videos naturally keyword-rich titles, tags, and descriptions when uploading that people will use to find your video. You can also provide a link or two to your website in the description.
